Window Pendant #1 - An attempt at control27 viewsAn anatomical heart is etched in copper and sequestered behind a window. Cogs and gears have been riveted to the heart.

A study in isolation and loneliness. The metres and controls we attempt to place on our hearts - neatly contained and labeled. We can catch glimpses through the window, or maybe our heart catches glimpses of the world.

And yet, the heart remains organic and messy behind the restrictions of minutes wheels and balances.

My Time Travelling Wrong Ticking Heart44 viewsCreated with antique watch parts from broken pockets watches, a copper heart and sterling silver bail. Everything is riveted together using sterling silver rivets.

It is an artistic rendition of my own heart, it's strange way of having wrong rhythms whenever I am overcome with emotions or stress (at times having sent me to hospital) and its tendancy to travel in odd whimsical directions.

A strange fish...27 views Three labradorite stones are included in this piece, on either side of the pendant, and one attaching an antique skeleton key to the chain. Labradorite reminds me of the sea, and in this case, three wishes. Traditionally, it is known as the “Magic Stone”, bringing a swift and rapid change of circumstances to those who wish upon it, and those who do are warned to be careful in what they wish for…

My macabre fishy…means several things to me. It touches on themes of the absurdity of trying to control things

Stamp Pendant #1 - The Pony Express (back)46 viewsPatrick Keeler's Pony Express pendant with "Consoler of the Lonely' stamped on the back - which was actually pretty aptly chosen in restrospect as he made an otherwise lonely day/night (I had to go to the concert alone, as my brother was ill) pretty exciting and fun by being so nice. Consoler of the lonely, indeed. Thanks!

Rustic Talisman Bracelet40 viewsA hand forged, hammered, and oxidised sterling silver ID tag marks the centre of a simple and rustic affirmation bracelet. Knotted leather embraces a hand forged heart and a gemstone charm of your choosing (pictured a peridot drop). ID plate can be stamped with any text.

Kuriosities...whimsical trinkets and oddities from Kimberly de Montbrun
